About The Author

As a native of Detroit, Michigan, Tomika is the youngest of two daughters. Although her parents divorced at an early age, Tomika and her sister shared an extremely close relationship with their father, Joe, throughout childhood and as adults. This book, The Average Joe: An Extraordinary Father, was largely inspired by Tomika’s relationship with her father.

Tomika is a strong advocate of building solid father- daughter relationships as she believes that this is the most critical defining relationship of a young woman’s life. She maintains that her strong bond with her father influences nearly every relationship in both her personal and professional lives.

Currently, she resides in the Pacific Northwest with her friend, Stan, and their dog, Cotton. Tomika frequently travels to the East Coast, Mexico, and Europe for business. She is a native English speaker, however, she also speaks intermediate Spanish, and conversational French.
